Notice regd: Employment status and skill voucher status

Dear Registered Institutes

It is being noted that institutes have uploaded the list of the candidates but are not updating the employment status. Kindly note to improve your employability index you need to update the employment status of the candidates. If there is single employment letter / offer letter for more than one candidate then also you can upload the document and link it against different candidates.
The feature to upload the employment letter and link it with the candidates is fully working and you may do it for your candidates.

At the same time it is also important that you get your skill voucher status changed to "Eligible for Skill Voucher". Kindly go through http://gsdm.in/FAQNew.aspx#41 to understand the process.
This has become important as now Urban Development department and Tribal Development Department are in advanced stage of issuing Skill Voucher. Unless the institute gets the eligibility status changed to "Issue and Take skill voucher" it will not be able to make use of skill voucher even if it is otherwise eligible for skill voucher. To kindly avoid last minute rush kindly get your skill voucher status changed suitably.

Further kindly note that since the earlier method of sending mail directly is not working because few domains are declaring it as spam hence it is now essential that institutes must subscribe to the group mail to receive the notifications. You are requested to kindly intimate this to your fellow institutes.

Launch of Skill Voucher

GSDM is pleased to announce the launch of "Skill Voucher" scheme in Gujarat.

Further that the skill voucher has been formally launched in the GyanShakti function by Hon'ble CM. Though the details of the scheme is available on the portal, the main points are as follows:
  1. Through this method anyone interested in funding the training cost of a candidate will be assured that either the funded candidate gets an NCVT certificate or the money is refunded back to the funding agency
  2. Henceforth all the government sponsored / funded short term training programs being done in PPP mode will be done only through Skill Voucher. Other departments will have to reorient their programs in line of the new GR. Departments may seek exemptions with reasoning which will be provided on case to case basis for a specified time.
  3. Initially all the institutes empanelled by any of the GoG departments or by Central government will be elligible to provide training on skill vouchers. To be specific all the institutes of NCVT, GCVT, UMEED, DSAG, GKS, CED, SCOPE,RDD, NSDC, VTP, ITI, Colleges, polytechnics, DOEACC, CDAC etc. They can train for any of the courses including those which are not specifically sanctioned in the empanelment. They are also free to devise their own training methodology.
  4. All such interested institutes will have to approach GSDM to get their status " Takes Skill Voucher" on the portal without which neither they would be able to register the skill vouchers and nor would the candidates get to know about such institutes.
  5. All such institutes may also approach the private bodies/ industries etc to get skill vouchers funded for their candidates.
  6. Companies who are interested in funding candidates as part of their CSR can approach GSDM for skill voucher. Similarly any philanthropic person can also get skill voucher for their selected candidates.

The GSDM portal is now open for registration

Gujarat Skill development Mission proudly announces the launch of its ambitious portal www.gsdm.in.

This portal has been developed in such a way that in due course of time data of each and every institute, course and candidate of Gujarat would get captured automatically. The portal is offering excellent job-portal features to all the candidates of the institutes that register with the portal. Not only that the portal will also offer on-line directory facility to all those who do not get formal or informal jobs. The registration is free of cost and online. Any institute of Gujarat involved in training business can register and enjoy the excellent features irrespective of type or duration of the course or the ownership of the institute. The portal also offers a facility where any one from any part of the state can put up a request for Skill Voucher, a scheme that will be launched soon. The portal also allows any person to register and then communicate with the candidates and institutes for hiring them.

The web-portal is backed by Government of Gujarat through Gujarat Skill Development Mission. The mission , which is headed by Ho’ble CM himself, is an apex body regarding skill development in the state in mission mode. The convener of GSDM is ACS, Lab and Employment department of Gujarat. Apart from other things it aims at acting as true facilitator and creating a system that brings all the players at same platform and allow the market forces to bring best out the system. The development of portal is a step in that direction.

The portal is now open for registration. All kinds of registration whether as institute or employer or counselor or recommender is free of cost and online.

Looking at the potential of the two initiatives National Skill Development Corporation has signed an MoU with the mission and would like to show case the model to the entire country after it is successfully implemented in Gujarat.
